Hunan Culture Season Activities in Sydney

The Hunan Culture Season & “Fantastic Hunan” Animation Exhibition, co-hosted by the Culture Department of Hunan Province and the China Cultural Center in Sydney, was unveiled in Sydney on the morning of Sept. 18.

The event will last till Nov. 15 with a series of activities being held during the period, such as the “Amazing Hunan” Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition, and Arts School Exchange. It is aimed at introducing Hunan creative industries and folk customs of ethnic groups to the international market, to promote the prosperous development of Hunan cultural trade.

Later on Oct. 16, eleven intangible heritage items of traditional arts and handicrafts will be displayed at the “Amazing Hunan” Intangible Culture Heritage Exhibition, where the Xiang embroidery, bamboo carving of Shaoyang, and Liling under-glaze colored porcelain will be exhibited. Besides, four representative items including the palm leaf knitting of Changsha, Miao ethnic painting, paper-cut of Meishan, and the embroidery patchwork quilt of Dabujiang will be presented by their inheritors on the site, offering a cultural feast for the Sydney citizens.

The animation works will be exhibited in one month, with five Hunan animation enterprises like Aniworld Satellite TV displaying their achievements via animation drama broadcasting, animation games experiencing, and animation derivatives for sale, to help more Hunan cultural creative enterprises “go global”.
